All of your options are available at the bottom of the Home screen. Store and Reading Once you power up the GlowLight Plus, connect it to Wi-Fi, and create a Barnes & Noble account, you can start reading or shopping online for books. If you like to read in the tub, this gives the GlowLight Plus a major edge over any of Amazon's Kindles. I submerged the reader in a container of water, and it came back out unscathed. It's IP67 certified, and can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Like the Kobo Aura H2O, the GlowLight Plus is waterproof. Barnes & Noble claims that you can get six weeks of battery life on a single charge, based on 30 minutes of reading per day. The GlowLight Plus has 4GB of internal storage, which is enough for at least two thousand books, and all books purchased directly from Barnes & Noble are stored for free in the Nook Cloud. The GlowLight Plus is capable of reading Epub and PDF files, but not Mobi or AZW files (Amazon's proprietary format), so you're out of luck if you have an extensive Kindle library and want to switch to the Nook. On the top left edge you'll find the Power button. Below the display is the Nook logo, which also acts as a Home button. The bottom edge is home to an uncovered micro USB port (despite being waterproof, Barnes & Noble suggests you blow into the port after submersion as you would with a game cartridge). The screen of the GlowLight Plus is surrounded by a white, bumpy bezel, and the back is covered in gold metal-it has a nice premium feel, though it looks a little ostentatious. ![]()
